NOH providers are trained in the most up-to-date DOT clinical regulatory guidelines. Our providers have access to the Federal Highway Administrations Consensus Conferences, which produce specific guidelines on cardiac, pulmonary, vision, diabetes, neurological and psychiatric disorders.
NOH providers complement the primary physician in order to make objective medical decisions about an employee’s health related to DOT regulations. This helps protect the employee’s and publics health and safety as well as an employers safety record and business interests.
Pre-placement Physicals
The purpose of post-offer pre-placement screening is to assist the employer in determining if there is a match between an individual’s functional capabilities and the physical requirements of a suitable job. The goal is to prevent needless injury or aggravation of an existing condition and the associated costs to both the employer and employee. The process allows the clinician to communicate with the employer the applicant’s specific needs for restrictions or task redesign that will permit the employee to work safely. The process may also result in an applicant truly not being a match for a particular job opening. Another benefit is the assurance that the employee does not have a health related condition that could affect the health and safety of co-workers.
Periodic and Executive Physicals
NOH offers a variety of periodic and executive physicals. These exams support the initial hiring and ongoing health needs of companies and those who serve them in an advisory capacity. All exams can be tailored to the individual needs of an employer and are delivered in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act and applicable legislation.
